What attracted you to get involved with Trident Coffee and our mission? Do you have a favorite product?
Dr. Gabrielle Lyon introduced me to it. Everything she recommends is already in the purest form so I was not at all skeptical. After using the product and becoming familiar with the mission I was even more confident.
We are all about health and wellness at Trident Coffee. With that being said, what would you say your favorite exercise is that keeps you fit for life and why?
I have been a coach for 25 years and a student to fitness and wellness. I have always understood that movements can be individualistic. At a very basic approach I love to structure an upper push, upper pull, squat variation, a hinge pattern, and a core. Combining all 5 of these is a simple and great approach. Also considering that many of us have to adjust movements accordingly. To answer your question I love Big Bang for your buck movements. Compound exercises gets the job done. This doesn’t mean that I do not isolate muscle groups but for timely purposes this is a great way to approach training.
Our founder is a Naval Academy graduate and held a leadership position in the Navy; we take leadership principles seriously around here. What is a really good leadership quality that you have found effective in life?
I learned along time ago to adapt to individuals strengths and weaknesses. You need to practice what you preach, lead by example and understand that people will not always approach tasks or projects with the severity that you do. After being a gym owner for over 15 years and employer to dozens you learn quickly how to get the most out of your team. Communication is incredibly important.
Trident Coffee is all about giving back to the community; we are building something bigger than just great coffee. Do you work with any non-profits or have any that really resonate with you and want to highlight?
Absolutely! I am on the board of the
Don Monti Memorial Research Cancer Foundation. I also do fundraising for different types of charity. I was excited to have just hosted a challenge with celebrity Sebastian Stan where I was able to donate over 20k to the
Ronald McDonald house. I am always interested in raising awareness and giving back. I would be happy to contribute in any which way with Trident. :) I am also the Head usher at St Patricks church in Huntington, NY where I serve 11:30 am mass every Sunday I am in town.
Life is not always about work, downtime is a must. What is a favorite hobby of yours to get your mind off of things?
I love training, golf and still play ice hockey. I was a division 1 college baseball player but those days are long gone. Now a perfect day for me is grabbing a workout with my team and spending the day with my wife Melissa, daughter Amelia, son Donny, and our 2 dogs Sambuca and Rigatoni. :)
